The first step to becoming a patient/practice member at Lifestyles Wellness Group is to call and speak with our patient coordinator. She will direct you on your next steps and answer any questions you might have related to location, appointment times, fees and such. You will be required to complete an appropriate health profile needed to initiate care. This includes standard contact information and questions regarding your or the patient's health history. You can download this ahead of time, complete it at home and bring it in when you come for your appointment. When you arrive at the office you will meet with one of our patient coordinators who will get you started on your paperwork if it hasn't already been completed and get you acquainted with the office.
New Chiropractic Practice Members:
Adults: Your current condition history will be taken so we have a detailed account of your present concerns. A chiropractic examination consisting of general orthopedic and neurological components, range of motion and a postural evaluation is then performed to assess your current health status. X-rays may be required if your past history or current health status warrants such.
For our pregnant patients: Specific evaluation procedures are done depending on how many weeks pregnant you are. The sacrum, along with the other pelvic bones are the most critical to assess when pregnant. Problems in this area lead to low back pain, sciatica, pain down the leg, pain into the groin area or walking with your feet turned out. The evaluation is similar to that as described above, but modified for your pregnant body and its special needs, so it will be comfortable and safe. Children: Children are very much at home in our office and parents can rest assured that the evaluation and treatment for children from newborns to teens is catered to their very specific needs. Your baby or toddler will have an orthopedic and neurological exam that is very specific to their developmental level. A properly functioning neuromusculoskeletal system is critically important for the dynamic growth that takes place in children. Your child can benefit from correct positioning (in strollers, car seats, slings etc.) to developing good posture habits, carrying backpacks properly, getting some help during developmental challenges and recovery from injuries. Following your first chiropractic appointment, your chiropractor may have some specific comments or recommendations for you. You will then be scheduled for your follow-up appointment. On your second visit we will review with you our findings, discuss options for treatment, explain if and how chiropractic care help your condition, and answer any questions you may have. Your chiropractor will give you the details of your plan of care and the recommended frequency of your appointments to get the results you want. She will then describe the specific treatment, answer any questions you may have and then you are set for your first adjustment.
If you have any questions that were not answered here, please call our office to speak with our patient co-ordinator at (403)247-9301. We are only a phone call away and would be pleased to help.
