About the event
These classes are ideally suited for Mamas in their second or third trimester accompanied by their life and/or birth support partner. If, however, mama is flying solo, Meagan and Kirsten are happy to assume the role of the birth partner.
In this workshop you will have an overview of what labour looks and sounds like. We share insightful information on best practices for thriving in early labour (which can last for days!) as well as for active labour (when interpreting body language becomes very important!) We are also both trained in Spinning Babies and will cover the essentials which truly have made such a HUGE difference for the mamas with whom we birth! Our goal is to give mamas and their partners the confidence and knowledge they need to understand the process of birth, of what to expect going in (be it your first or fifth!) and of how to make it as smooth a process as they can through simple alignment practices and support techniques.
We cover optimal positions for both comfort and for baby-shifting (as baby's position in-utero during labour has a HUGE impact on how labour progresses and on mom's comfort levels!) We will also discuss natural methods for preparing mind and body for labour and often we invite guest speakers who share their expertise and insight on preparing for labour and birth. These experts include Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Homeopaths, Naturopaths, Osteopaths, Massage therapists, Prenatal/Postpartum therapists, Birth Story listeners, and more...
We are so passionate about birth and about helping couples get excited for (rather than fearful of) "labour" day.
This is a hands-on workshop so please dress comfortably and bring your yoga mat if you have one!
Cost: $100 per couple. An additional support partner may come for $25.
1 ticket per couple$100.00
